Game Variations
Each player must choose each variation once during the game. The variation selector rotates each round.
King of Hearts
Avoid taking the King of Hearts! -200 points to whoever takes it.
Queens
Avoid taking any Queens. -30 points per Queen taken.
Diamonds
Avoid taking Diamond cards. -30 points per Diamond card.
No Tricks
Avoid winning tricks. -50 points per trick won.
Total Negative
All penalties combined! KoH + Queens + Diamonds + No Tricks.
Whist
Win as many tricks as possible. +50 points per trick won.
Ten of Clubs
Take the Ten of Clubs! +200 points to whoever takes it.
Rentz
Empty your hand first! 1st: +400 / 2nd: +200 / 3rd: +100 / 4th: 0
How to Play
Trick-Based Variations
(All except Rentz)
- The round leader plays any card to start
- Players must follow suit if possible
- If unable to follow suit, any card may be played
- Highest card of the lead suit wins the trick
- The trick winner leads the next trick
- Continue until all 8 tricks are complete
Rentz Variation
(Special Rules)
- First player must play a Jack to start
- Cards are played onto suit piles in sequence
- Each pile extends from Jack: 7←8←9←10←J→Q→K→A
- Play a Jack to start a new suit pile
- Or play a card ±1 from an existing pile's end
- First player to empty their hand wins!
